Painted Brick Entrance

Screen Shot 2014-09-21 at 10.49.31 AM "You know that awkward brick entrance/sunroom in the front of your home when an addition or porch has been put on, what colour should I paint the brick, flooring and door?" We get asked this questions quite a bit, especially with older homes. When painting brick, especially in an open space with windows…you always want it to flow with the existing brick. To create this unifying look, we suggest painting the brick the colour of the existing mortar. Usually a taupe. In this case we love the idea of Woodcliff Lake 980 by Benjamin Moore. Because it's a deep taupe, painting the floor a creamy tone give it a nice balance. This homeowner loved the idea of charcoal accessories such as the area rug and gold accents so painted the door in Goldsmith CSP-960 by Benjamin Moore.
