Q & A Thursday: From Pre-Teen To Sweet 16

Q & A: My daughter is turning 16 this month and her bedroom has been the same since she was 11. It's time for a change, and she wants it to be less girly. Her upholstered bed is a blush pink and she loves it, but her favorite colour is blue.Screen Shot 2016-01-21 at 12.10.59 AM Any suggestions on how we can make her bedroom fun, yet more sophisticated. Thanks, Sanje from Mississauga,ON As shown in the Styleboard below, let's put a rich sapphire colour on the walls to contrast with the blush headboard.  To add some whimsy and texture, wallpaper is going to be the perfect accent (ceiling to be painted 2050-50 Waterfall by Benjamin Moore) .  With the addition of gold accents, citrus, teal and turquoise this bedroom will be packed with colour.  To neutralize the space, the drapes, rug and bedding will be all be a soft creamy white.
